Twitterature: November

November 14, 2013 — 10 Comments

I’m linking up Modern Mrs. Darcy‘s Twitterature – quick and casual reviews of the books I read the past month. This is my first time participating, but I’ve discovered so many great books through this linkup and look forward to everyone’s recommendations each month!

peterson books

The Wingfeather Saga, Andrew Peterson (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3)

Good stories in their own rights, but juvenile fiction versions of Tolkien. I loved the characters and the themes, and cried at the end of the third book. Read with your kids for this reason. #storytelling

maisie dobbs

Maisie Dobbs, Jacqueline Winspear

Not from this past month, but I learned of these books through Twitterature earlier this year. The mysteries are satisfying, but it’s the character of Maisie herself that keeps me reading. #mystery #psycholgy

And now I’m off to find more books to add to my ever-growing list!

  3. Thanks for the recommendations – I’ve been looking for something to read aloud with my 7 year old and those Andrew Peterson books look great! I always have to find something that he is interested in but that won’t make me crazy πŸ™‚

  4. We love the Wingfeather saga at our house, and I really enjoyed my first Maisie Dobbs book that I just read a month or two ago. I haven’t read any of the others yet but I’m planning on it.

  7. I’ll have to keep Wingfeather on my radar for a couple of years from now.

I thought Maisie Dobbs was super interesting, too. The psychology in it is what made me keep reading. πŸ™‚
